Circuit/System Description
The body control module (BCM) supplies battery voltage to the center console flood lamp as well as the accent lamp control module via the accent lamps control circuit. When a door is opened the BCM applies battery voltage to the center console flood lamp as well as the accent lamp control module illuminating all of the accent lighting. The accent lamp control module receives the signal from the BCM and responds by applying voltage to the accent lighting that is controlled by the accent lamp control module. The accent lamp control module monitors this input from the BCM for dimming purposes and adjusts the brightness level based on the input from the BCM. All accent lighting will remain illuminated until all doors are closed and the ignition is OFF. The accent lighting remains illuminated with the ignition ON.
The accent lamp control module is capable of providing 24 separate colors for accent lighting. In addition to the 24 colors, the accent lamp control module contains 3 modes that consist of fade, transition, and car show. The accent lamp control module receives signals from the BCM that are used by the accent lamp control module to change the color of the accent lighting as well as the various modes the accent lighting can be displayed. The BCM provides two pulse width modulated signal circuits to the accent lamp control module, LED accent lamps signal 1 terminal 17 X1 and LED accent lamps signal 2 terminal 26 X6. When the accent lighting color selection switch is operated, a serial data message is sent via the Human Machine Interface Module to the BCM. The BCM responds to the accent lighting color selection by applying a pulse width modulated voltage to the accent lamp control module. The accent lamp control module interprets the pulse width modulated voltage and apply's the appropriate color based on this voltage to the accent lamps. Accent lighting mode selection operates in the same manner. When the accent lighting mode selection switch is operated, a serial data message is sent via the Human Machine Interface Module to the BCM. The BCM responds to the accent lighting mode selection by applying a pulse width modulated voltage to the accent lamp control module. The accent lamp control module interprets the pulse width modulated voltage and apply's the appropriate mode based on this voltage to the accent lamps.
