Installation Procedure

Tilt the oil pump assembly in order to install the drive chain over the oil pump and crankshaft sprocket.
- NOTE:
The oil pump drive chain sprocket, crankshaft sprocket, and oil pump drive chain may best be installed together as a unit onto the crankshaft and balancer shaft.
Ensure the crankshaft is at TDC. Ensure the balancer shaft is aligned with the timing mark.
- Install the oil pump drive chain (1).
- Once the drive chain is correctly positioned on the sprockets, tighten the oil pump bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- NOTE:
Ensure the tensioner spring is retained in the correct position prior to installation
Remove the oil pump drive chain tensioner pin (1).
- Install the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement (LV7) .
