Removal Procedure
- Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement (Chevrolet / GMC) - Remove
DO NOT pry the front floor console trim plate (1) at these points. Doing so will damage the cup holder door mechanisms. Adhere to the following steps to prevent damage to the front floor console trim plate. (1)
Use a flat bladed plastic tool to release the rear retainers on the front floor console trim plate. (1)
Use a flat bladed plastic tool to release the retainers between the two compartments on the front floor console trim plate. (1)
Pull the front floor console trim Plate rearward to disengage the retaining clips. (1)
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Transfer components as necessary.
If the front floor console cup holder door is locked (1) you can release the door by pressing on the pendulum cup holder inertia lock tab (2) where indicated.
