Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    Used lash adjuster arms must be returned to the original position on the camshaft. If the camshaft is being replaced, the lash adjuster arms actuated by the camshaft must also be replaced.

    Apply lubricant to the valve tips. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Europe LV7) , or Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Europe L5Q) , or Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (North America LV7) , or Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (North America L5Q) .

  2. Position the 12 hydraulic lash adjuster arms (1) on the tip of the valve stems and on the lash adjusters.
  3. Apply lubricant to the 12 hydraulic lash adjuster arms (1). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Europe LV7) , or Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Europe L5Q) , or Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (North America LV7) , or Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (North America L5Q) .
  4. Install the exhaust camshaft. Refer to Exhaust Camshaft Replacement , or Exhaust Camshaft Replacement (LV7) .
  5. Install the intake camshaft. Refer to Intake Camshaft Replacement , or Intake Camshaft Replacement (LV7) .
