- If a DTC is set
Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .
- Go to next step: If a DTC is not set
- If a DTC is set
- Verify that the resistance of B131 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 and 2 is within the value specified in Temperature Versus Resistance - Exhaust Temperature Sensor
- If not within the specified range
Replace the appropriate B131 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor
- Go to next step: If within the specified range
- If not within the specified range
- Verify the following conditions do not exist:
- Exhaust system leaks - Refer to Exhaust Leakage .
- A loose or disconnected charge air cooler hose or pipe
- Loose or missing induction or exhaust system components
- If a condition is found
Repair as necessary.
- Go to next step: If no condition is found
- Perform the Diesel Particulate Filter Service Regeneration
- Verify that Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 2 reads at least 100°C (180°F) warmer than EGT Sensor 1 during regeneration.
- If EGT Sensor 2 is less than 100°C (180°F) warmer than EGT Sensor 1
Replace the diesel oxidation catalyst
- Go to next step: If EGT Sensor 2 is at least 100°C (180°F) warmer than EGT Sensor 1
- If EGT Sensor 2 is less than 100°C (180°F) warmer than EGT Sensor 1
- All OK.
