- After starting the engine, the exhaust gas temperature sensor temperatures should rise steadily, then stabilize after the engine reaches operating temperature.
- Inspect the exhaust gas temperature sensor terminals for corrosion.
- Inspect the exhaust gas temperature sensor wiring for pinches, cuts, and damaged insulation.
