Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC P16D7, P16D8, P16D9, U010E is not set.
- If any of the DTCs are set
- Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Perform the scan tool control function: Reductant Heater 1 - On and Off
Verify the scan tool parameter: Reductant Heater 1 = 1 to 15 A
- If not between 1 and 15 A
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If between 1 and 15 A
- If not between 1 and 15 A
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Reductant Heater 1 = The value should not spike or drop out.
Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Wiggle the harness and connector: A38 Reductant Pump and Sensor Assembly
- Wiggle the harness and connector: X2 @ K115 Reductant Control Module
- If the value spikes or drops out
Repair as necessary - Wiring/Terminal(s)/Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step: If the value does not spike or drop out
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
