Component Testing

Reductant Tank Heater

Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the A38 Reductant Pump and Sensor Assembly.
Test for 1 - 3 Ω between X2 terminals 4 and 5 of the A38 Reductant Pump and Sensor Assembly.
- If not within 1 - 3 Ω
  Replace the A38 Reductant Pump and Sensor Assembly.
- Go to next step: If within 1 - 3 Ω
Test for infinite resistance between each terminal and the A38 Reductant Pump and Sensor Assembly housing/case.
- X2 terminal 4
- X2 terminal 5
- If less than infinite resistance
  Replace the A38 Reductant Pump and Sensor Assembly.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
All OK.

Reductant Line Heater

Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the E52 Reductant Line Heater.
Test for 1 - 4 Ω between terminals 1 and 2 of the Reductant Line Heater.
- If not within 1 - 4 Ω
  Replace the E52 Reductant Line Heater.
- Go to next step: If within 1 - 4 Ω
Test for infinite resistance between each terminal and the E52 Reductant Line Heater housing/case.
- terminal 1
- terminal 2
- If less than infinite resistance
  Replace the E52 Reductant Line Heater.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
All OK.
