Circuit/System Verification

- Engine = Running
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor = 0.5 to 4.5 V
- If not between 0.5 and 4.5 V
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If between 0.5 and 4.5 V
- If not between 0.5 and 4.5 V
- Verify the scan tool parameter: Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor = The value should change with accelerator pedal input.
- If the value does not change
Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the value changes
- If the value does not change
- Perform the scan tool control function: Turbocharger Vane Position - Increase
Verify the scan tool parameter: Turbocharger Vane Position = The value should not spike or drop out while moving the sensor through the entire range.
- Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
- Wiggle the harness and connector: B112 Turbocharger Vane Position Sensor
WARNING:While engine is operating, the exhaust system will become extremely hot. To prevent burns avoid contacting a hot exhaust system.
- If the value spikes or drops out
Repair as necessary - Wiring/Terminal(s)/Electrical Connector(s)
- Go to next step: If the value does not spike or drop out
- Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets

- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC sets
- All OK.
