Circuit/System Verification

  1. Verify the integrity of entire DPF system by inspecting for the following conditions:
    • Damaged components
    • Loose or improper installation
    • Leaks or restrictions in the B154 Exhaust Pressure Differential sensor lines or hoses. The pressure lines should be free from sharp bends, or kinks from the pressure sensor to the exhaust filter assembly.
    • If a condition is found 

      Repair as necessary

    • Go to next step: If no condition is found 
  2. Ignition On.
  3. Observe the scan tool DPF Differential Pressure parameter. The value should be between -1.0 kPa and +0.4 kPa (-0.15 psi and +0.058 psi).
    • If not between the specified values 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If between the specified values 
  4. Engine running at a warm stabilized idle, observe the scan tool DPF Differential Pressure parameter. The value should be between 0 - 3 kPa (-0.15 psi to +0.44 psi).
    • If not between the specified values 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If between the specified values 
  5. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
  6. Verify the DTC does not reset.
    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing.

    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not set 
  7. All OK.
