NOTE:
For shift solenoids, "ON" = Solenoid Energized (Pressurized).For shift solenoids, "OFF" = Solenoid De-energized (No Pressure).For 1-2-3-4-5-6 clutch apply, the 1-2-3-4-5-6 Shift Solenoid Valve A is OFF (De-energized).For 6-7-8-9 clutch apply and reverse, the 1 Reverse and 6-7-8-9 Shift Solenoid Valve F is OFF (De-energized).The design for the Shift Solenoid Valve A, Valve B, and Valve F are a pintle design. This configuration allows the valves to operate as "Normally LOW" devices. "Normally LOW" devices meaning normally low pintle position will be present given no current command to the solenoid. (This translates to LOW force at the pintle.) This allows the transmission to have a default gear of 1st or 6th gear depending on the gear state of the transmission at the time of a TCM failure.
