Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    CAUTION:

    Do not disconnect the nitrogen oxide sensor from the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. A separation of the two components may cause a defect on the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. Always replace the nitrogen oxide sensor along with the nitrogen oxide sensor control module as an assembly.

    Disconnect the electrical connector. (3)

  4. Remove the 2 nitrogen oxides sensor control module nuts (1).
  5. NOTE:

    Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position

  6. Remove the nitrogen oxides sensor control module (2).

    Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Remove [4x]

    NOTE:

    Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position

    Remove the nitrogen oxides sensor (1) from the exhaust pipe.

  9. Remove the nitrogen oxides sensor assembly from the vehicle.
