Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
    CAUTION:

    Do not disconnect the nitrogen oxide sensor from the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. A separation of the two components may cause a defect on the nitrogen oxide sensor control module. Always replace the nitrogen oxide sensor along with the nitrogen oxide sensor control module as an assembly.

  1. Install the nitrogen oxides sensor assembly to the vehicle.

    NOTE:

    Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position

    Install the nitrogen oxides sensor (1) to the exhaust pipe and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

    Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install [4x]

    NOTE:

    Do not bend the cable sharply at the base of either the sensing unit or sensor ECU in the final mounting position

    Install the nitrogen oxides sensor control module (2).

  5. Install the 2 nitrogen oxides sensor control module nuts (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  6. Connect the electrical connector. (3)
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  9. Perform the NOx Catalyst Reductant Loading Reset procedure. NOx Catalyst Reductant Loading Reset 
  10. If replacing component with new, use GDS2 to perform a NOx Sensor 2 Reset. NOx Sensor 2 Reset
