Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- NOTE:
A second technician is required.
Install the fuel tank (1) to the hydraulic jack (3).
- Position and raise the fuel tank (1).
- Fuel Tank Strap (2) - Install [2x]
- Fuel Tank Strap Bolt (4) - Install and tighten [4x] 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
- Lower and remove the hydraulic jack. (3)
Connect the electrical connector. (1)
Remove the closure plugs from all connections.
- Fuel Return Pipe (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Remove the closure plugs from all connections.
- Fuel Feed Pipe (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Retainer Clip (2) - Install
Remove the closure plugs from all connections.
- Fuel Tank Vent Pipe (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Fuel Tank Filler Hose (2) - Install
- Clamp (3) - Tighten 2.5 N.m (22 lb in)
- Parking Brake Cable - Reposition - Both Sides
Parking Brake Cable (1) @ Parking Brake Cable Bracket (2) - Install - Both Sides
- Install the parking brake bolt (3) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Repeat the procedure for the other side.
Parking Brake Cable Nut (3) - Install and tighten [2x] 9 N.m (80 lb in)
- Parking Brake Cable (2) @ Retainer (4) - Install [2x]
- Parking Brake Cable (2) @ Parking Brake Cable Bracket (1) - Install
- Exhaust Muffler Assembly - Install
- Nitrogen Oxides Catalytic Converter - Remove - Nitrogen Oxides Catalytic Converter Replacement
- {If equipped} Exhaust Tail Pipe - Install - Exhaust Tail Pipe Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7 - Hatchback)
- {If equipped} Exhaust Rear Muffler - Install - Exhaust Rear Muffler Replacement (Hatchback)
- Fuel Tank Heat Shield - Install - Fuel Tank Heat Shield Replacement (1.4L LE2, and 1.6L Diesel LH7 - Notchback)Fuel Tank Heat Shield Replacement (1.6L Diesel LH7 - Hatchback)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
