Installation Procedure

  1. GM3824669
    NOTE:

    The camshaft must be in the base circle position before the valve lifter follower and high pressure fuel pump are installed.

    Install the EN-51365  gauge (1).

  2. Use EN-51365  gauge (1) and rotate the crankshaft until the special tool is flush with the cylinder head. This indicates the camshaft lobe is at base circle position.
  3. Remove the EN-51365  gauge (1).
  4. GM4093846

    Lubricate the valve lifter follower (1) with engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 

  5. Install the valve lifter follower into the cylinder head bore.
  6. Fuel Injection Pump Replacement - Install
