Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Timing Chain Guide(2) - Install

  2. Timing Chain Guide Fastener(1) - Install and tighten[3x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)

    Release the tensioner plunger (1). Timing Chain Tensioner Replacement 

  4. GM3977683

    Inspect the timing chain marks (1, 2, and 3) to confirm they remained aligned after engaging the timing chain tensioner.

  5. GM4091100

    Remove camshaft holding tool EN-51367  (1).

  6. Using a suitable tool, rotate the crankshaft one complete engine cycle then verify the timing chain marks are aligned properly.
