Installation Procedure

  1. GM3985367

    Install NEW oil pump seals (1).

  2. GM3985404

    Tilt the oil pump assembly (1) in order to install the drive chain over the oil pump shaft sprocket.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    Ensure the oil pump assembly (2) is properly positioned. The fasteners should only be installed and tightened after the drive chain is correctly positioned on the sprocket.

    Install the oil pump fasteners (1). Tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in)

  4. If replacing the oil pump, install the oil pump flow control solenoid valve. Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Replacement

    Remove the suitable tool (2) to unlock the tensioner (1).

  6. Upper Oil Pan Replacement  - Install
