Installation Procedure

  1. GM3689044

    Crankshaft Balancer(1)@Crankshaft(3) - Install

  2. Make sure that the key is properly seated (4) on crankshaft balancer notch.
  3. Install the EN-51368  installer (2)
  4. Install the crankshaft balancer by screwing the flange from EN-51368  installer.
  5. Remove the EN-51368  installer (2)
  6. GM3686986

    Install and handtighten the crankshaft balancer bolt (3).

  7. Install the EN-44226-1  remover (2) to the crankshaft balancer (1).
    8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

  8. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt (3) by counter holding the crankshaft balancer (1) with the EN-44226-1  (3) and torque wrench.
    1. First pass to 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
    2. Loosen the bolt to 360 degrees
    3. Final pass to an additional 180 degress, using the EN-45059  meter
  9. Remove EN-44226-1  remover (2) from the crankshaft balancer (1).
  10. Drive Belt Replacement  - Install
