Camshaft Timing Chain Inspection

EN-51367 Camshaft Holder

- Camshaft Cover Replacement - Remove
- Remove the right front wheelhouse liner. Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Chevrolet)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Buick)
Adjust the engine to cylinder 1 top dead center (TDC) of combustion stroke. Set crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until the markings (1, 2) line up. Rotate at the crankshaft balancer bolt (3).
Install the EN-51367 holder (1).
- If the EN-51367 holder (1) can be installed, the engine timing is properly adjusted.
- If the EN-51367 holder (1) can't be installed, inspect for proper alignment of timing marks.
- Remove the EN-51367 holder (1).
- Camshaft Cover Replacement - Install
- Install the right front wheelhouse liner. Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Chevrolet)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Buick)
NOTE:
The marks of the camshaft position actuators must stand at 12 O'clock.
