Installation Procedure

  1. GM3763311
    CAUTION:

    Refer to Crankshaft Position Sensor Reluctor Ring Caution .

    Automatic Transmission Flex Plate(1) - Install

  2. Install 8 NEW automatic transmission flex plate bolts (2).
  3. Hand tighten the bolts.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    The bolts have adhesive patch and must be tightened to final torque within 5 minutes.

    Tighten the 8 flex plate bolts (1) in sequence as shown:

    Tighten

    1. First pass to 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
    2. A second pass to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
    3. A final a additional pass to 70 degrees, using the EN 45059  Angle meter.
  5. GM3763310

    Remove the starter nut (1).

  6. Starter Bolt(1) - Remove
  7. Remove the EN-51398  holder (2).
  8. Starter Replacement (LUV)Starter Replacement (2H0)Starter Replacement (LE2-FWD)Starter Replacement (LE2-AWD) - Install
  9. Transmission Replacement - Install
