Fuel Injector Installation Procedure

  1. GM3709764
    NOTE:

    Do not remove the fuel injectors unless inspection indicates replacement is necessary. Do not remove the EN-51146-1-6  demounting screw and EN-51146-1-1  support unless the fuel injector is being replaced.

    If one or more fuel injectors are being replaced, remove the bolts (1) and EN-51146-100  plate (2).

  2. Remove the EN-51146-1-6  demounting screws and EN-51146-1-1  supports (3) for all fuel injectors that are being replaced.
  3. Remove and discard the fuel injectors (5) that are being replaced.
  4. Lubricate the O-ring with one drop of clean engine oil. Install a new fuel injector (5).
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the NEW fuel injector screws (4) to the NEW fuel injectors (5) and tighten to 5 N.m (44 lb in).
  6. Connect the fuel injector wiring harness plugs.
