Component Testing

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2018 GMC Yukon XL, 2018 GMC Yukon, 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
    NOTE: Circuit/System Testing must be performed before proceeding with Component Testing.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: Q43 Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly
  3. Connect the special tool: EN 46999  Displacement On Demand Electric Tool
  4. Connect a DMM between the test points: Resistance @ Special Tool
  5. Perform the special tool function:Solenoid Valve 1-4 - On - Operate each component, one at a time.

    Verify the DMM displays between 10 and 24 Ω.

    • If not between 10 and 24 Ω 

      Replace the component: Q43 Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly

    • Go to next step: If between 10 and 24 Ω 
  6. All OK.
