Circuit/System Verification

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2018 GMC Yukon XL, 2018 GMC Yukon, 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
    NOTE: The engine oil level and the oil pressure are critical to the correct operation of the system.
  2. Verify DTC P3400 is not set.
    • If the DTC is set 
    1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
    2. Verify a condition does not exist with the component:Q43 Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly - Screen=Restricted
    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  3. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  4. Verify the scan tool parameter:
    • Cylinder 1, 4, 6, 7 Deactivation Solenoid Valve Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status=OKorNot Run
    • Cylinder 1, 4, 6, 7 Deactivation Solenoid Valve Control Circuit Low Voltage Test Status=OKorNot Run
    • Cylinder 1, 4, 6, 7 Deactivation Solenoid Valve Control Circuit Open Test Status=OKorNot Run
    • If not the specified state 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing below

    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  5. Verify the scan tool parameter:
    • Cylinder 1, 4, 6, 7 Deactivation Solenoid Valve Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status=OKorNot Run
    • Cylinder 1, 4, 6, 7 Deactivation Solenoid Valve Control Circuit Low Voltage Test Status=OKorNot Run
    • Cylinder 1, 4, 6, 7 Deactivation Solenoid Valve Control Circuit Open Test Status=OKorNot Run
    • Perform the action while monitoring the parameter:
    • Wiggle the harness and connector:Q43 Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly
    • Wiggle the harness and connector:K20 Engine Control Module
    • If not the specified state 

      Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal(s) / Electrical Connector(s)

    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  6. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing below

    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  7. All OK.
