Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    A new vacuum pump gasket should be installed when the vacuum pump is installed to prevent leaks.

  1. Install the vacuum pump gasket (2) and vacuum pump (1) onto the engine block.

  3. Install Vacuum Pump Fastener (1) [4x] @Vacuum Pump (2) and tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  4. Install Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement .

  6. Reposition the engine wiring harness (2) and install the wiring harness retainers (1).
  7. Install the steering gear skid shield. Refer to Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement .

  9. Reposition and install the vacuum boost pipe (1) onto the vacuum pump. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  10. Install the vacuum boost pipe (1) into its retainer.

  12. Position the vacuum boost pipe sleeve (3) in place and install zip ties (2) to secure it to the vacuum boost pipe.
  13. Install the vacuum pump belt. Refer to Vacuum Pump Belt Replacement .
  14. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
