Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2018 GMC Yukon XL, 2018 GMC Yukon, 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Lubricate the threads and sealing surface of the NEW fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor with one drop of clean engine oil.
- Install the NEW fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor (2) and hand tighten.
- Remove Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (2) @Fuel Injection Fuel Rail (3) and re-lubricate with one drop of clean engine oil.
- Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (2) @Fuel Injection Fuel Rail (3) and tighten 33 N.m (24 lb ft)
- Connect Electrical Connector (1) @Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Fuel Pressure Sensor (2).
- Pressurize the fuel system and inspect for leaks.
- Install Fuel Pump Insulator Replacement .
NOTE:
Applying force to the plastic housing of the sensor may damage the sensor. To tighten or loosen, apply force only to the attached hexagon.
NOTE:
Ensure the fuel rail threads are clean and free of any excess fuel, or the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor will NOT seal properly.
CAUTION:
Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .
NOTE:
If a fuel leak occurs at the fuel rail, the fuel rail will need to be replaced.
