Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2018 GMC Yukon XL, 2018 GMC Yukon, 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

Clean the evaporative emission (EVAP) connections and surrounding areas prior to disconnecting the fittings in order to avoid possible system contamination.

  1. Remove the spare tire and wheel assembly.

  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Disconnect the chassis wiring harness electrical connector from the EVAP canister vent solenoid.

  6. Disconnect the EVAP canister vent solenoid quick connect fitting (1) from the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  8. Disconnect the solenoid vent filter from the filler pipe by removing the push pin (1).

  10. Remove the 2 tie straps (1) that hold the solenoid vent line to the fuel fill pipe hose.

  12. Disengage the retainer (1) securing the EVAP canister vent solenoid to the bracket.
  13. Remove the EVAP canister vent solenoid assembly.
