Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2018 GMC Yukon XL, 2018 GMC Yukon, 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

All gasket surfaces should be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.

  1. Install a NEW gasket (1) on the valve lifter oil manifold.
  2. Set the valve lifter oil manifold (2) onto the engine.
  3. Install the valve lifter oil manifold bolts (3).

    Tighten

    1. First pass in sequence 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
    2. Final pass in sequence 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  4. Connect the two electrical connectors (1).
  5. Install the fuel injection fuel rail assemblies. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement - Bank 1 , and Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement - Bank 2 .
  6. Install the fuel pump. Refer to Fuel Pump Replacement .
