Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2018 GMC Yukon XL, 2018 GMC Yukon, 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Clean and inspect the oil level switch bore for dirt or debris and clean as needed prior to installing the switch.

  3. Lubricate the oil level switch seal (3) with clean engine oil then install the oil level switch fasteners (1) and insert the oil level switch (2) into its bore.

    NOTE:

    Ensure that the clip is properly seated into the level switch prior to installing the crankshaft oil deflector.

  5. Install the clip (1) to secure the oil level switch connector (2).

  7. Install the crankshaft oil deflector fasteners (1) into the crankshaft oil deflector (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  8. Install the engine oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
