Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2018 GMC Yukon XL, 2018 GMC Yukon, 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Engine Mount (1) - InstallNOTE: Due to the unknown shelf life of the adhesive patch, prepare the engine mount engine side bolts as follows.
- If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:
- Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
- Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. ADHESIVES, FLUIDS, LUBRICANTS, AND SEALERS .
- Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.CAUTION: Refer to FASTENER CAUTION .
- Install the 4 engine mount engine side bolts (1) and tighten to 65 N.m (48 lb ft).
- Using the adjustable jack, lower the engine until the engine mount is sitting flush on the frame.
- Remove the adjustable jack and block of wood from the engine oil pan.CAUTION: Refer to TORQUE-TO-YIELD FASTENER CAUTION .
- Install and tighten the 3 NEW engine mount frame side bolts (1) in the sequence shown.
- First Pass 50 N.m (37 lb ft)
- Final Pass 65 Degrees
- Exhaust Manifold - Right Side - Install - EXHAUST MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT - RIGHT SIDE (L83, L86) .
- Front Wheelhouse Liner - Right Side - Install . Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Cadillac)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Chevrolet)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (GMC) .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
