Oil Pump Removal

Preliminary Procedure If oil pump is being removed to perform a different repair and is going to be reused, then EN-51267 oil pump alignment tool MUST be installed on the engine block before the oil pump is removed and left in place until the oil pump is reinstalled. Failure to do so before the oil pump is removed will result in the original oil pump having to be replaced with a new oil pump.
1	Oil Pump Bolt NOTE: If the Oil Pump is going to be reused, then prior to removing oil Pump Bolts, install the oil pump alignment tool. If the oil pump is going to be replaced, then just remove the bolts and proceed to step 2. Procedure Hand Tighten the supplied bolts in the positions shown. Hold the alignment tools tight to the oil pump housing and then torque the alignment tool bolts to 10 N.m (86 lb in). Special Tools EN-51267 Oil Pump Alignment Tool For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

Oil Pump Bolt

NOTE:

If the Oil Pump is going to be reused, then prior to removing oil Pump Bolts, install the oil pump alignment tool. If the oil pump is going to be replaced, then just remove the bolts and proceed to step 2.

Procedure

Hand Tighten the supplied bolts in the positions shown.
Hold the alignment tools tight to the oil pump housing and then torque the alignment tool bolts to 10 N.m (86 lb in).
