Engine Identification

The vehicle identification number (VIN) is located on the left side rear of the engine block (1) and is typically an 11 digit number stamped or laser-etched onto the engine at the vehicle assembly plant.

Engine identification can also be made through use of the Engine Traceability label (2) on the rear of the left cylinder head, or the Engine Traceability label (3) on the engine block as shown.
