Installation Procedure

  1. Install a NEW automatic transmission fluid pump seal (8).
  2. Install the automatic transmission fluid filter (6).
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    NOTE:

    This bolt is unique, it must go back into the same hole. It is not able to go into other filter bolt hole.

  3. Install the automatic transmission fluid filter bolt (4) and tighten to 10.5 N.m (93 lb in).
  4. Install the automatic transmission fluid filter bolt (5) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
    5. NOTE:

    The fluid pan gasket is reusable. Inspect the gasket to determine if it may be reused. If the gasket is stuck to the case or pan, it should be replaced.

  5. Install the automatic transmission fluid pan gasket (3) to the fluid pan.
  6. Install the automatic transmission fluid pan (2) to the transmission.

  7. Install the automatic transmission fluid pan bolts (1) and tighten in the sequence shown to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  8. Fill the transmission. Transmission Fluid Fill Procedure
  9. Lower the vehicle.
