Installation Procedure

- Install the shift cable to the vehicle.
- Raise the vehicle.
- If you are just removing and re-installing the range selector cable. Install the transmission range selector lever and cable (2) as an assembly.
- Tighten the range selector lever nut (1). Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Replacement
- If you are replacing range selector lever, install the NEW range selector lever to the transmission. Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Replacement
- Install the NEW range selector cable end to the transmission range selector lever ball stud.
- Install the locking clip to the cable at the bracket.
- Connect the shift cable retainers to the chassis cab.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the rubber grommet (1) to the floor panel.
- Reposition the carpet and insulation to it's original position.
- Secure the shift cable (3) to the steering column bracket.
- Install the shift cable (1) to the steering column shift control (2).

- Release the parking brake.
NOTE:
Prior to installing the shift cable to the vehicle, ensure that the column shift lever and the transmission control lever are in the mechanical park position. The transmission control lever can be positioned to mechanical park by rotating the control lever clockwise until it reaches its full clockwise position.
WARNING:
After installing the transmission range selector shift cable, pull up and push down on ALL connections to verify that the connections are fully seated and properly engaged. Failure to perform this task can result in the vehicle not being able to shift into PARK causing potential vehicle damage and bodily injury.
NOTE:
Ensure the shift lever is in the Park position.
