Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2018 GMC Yukon XL, 2018 GMC Yukon, 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2018 Cadillac Escalade ESV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the EBCM, if removed. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement .
  2. Install the BPMV to the bracket, if removed. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Replacement .
  3. Install the BPMV and bracket assembly to the frame rail and slide the BPMV and bracket assembly toward the front of the vehicle.
  4. Keep the BPMV and bracket assembly firmly seated in the slots of the frame rail and tighten the BPMV bracket bolts (1) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  5. Connect the right front brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten the fitting to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  6. Connect the left front brake pipe fitting (2) and tighten the fitting to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
  7. Connect the left rear brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten the fitting to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  8. Connect the right rear brake pipe fitting (2) and tighten the fitting to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
  9. Connect the master cylinder secondary brake pipe fitting (1) and tighten the fitting to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).

  10. Connect the master cylinder primary brake pipe fitting (2) and tighten the fitting to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).
  11. Connect the EBCM electrical connector.
  12. Bleed the antilock brake system. Refer to Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed .
  13. Program the EBCM. Refer to Control Module References .
  14. Calibrate the BPMV pressure sensor. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Pressure Sensor Calibration .
