Driver Or Passenger Seat Back Cover And Pad Replacement (Except Cadillac)

WARNING:

Do not repair or replace the seat stitching or seams in the seat back trim cover with an internal mounted seat side airbag module. Replace the complete seat back trim cover from the OEM. Non-OEM seat stitching may cause improper airbag deployment which could result in personal injury.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Driver or Passenger Seat Inner Recliner Finish Cover Replacement 
  2. Front Seat Cushion Outer Finish Cover Replacement (8-Way Power) Front Seat Cushion Outer Finish Cover Replacement (2-Way Manual) Front Seat Cushion Outer Finish Cover Replacement (22-Way Power) 
  3. Front Seat Head Restraint Guide Replacement 
1 Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Cover

Procedure

  1. Unzip both zippers.
  2. Disengage the j-channel retainers from the seat back cushion frame.
  3. Loosen the seat back cushion cover and pad, release the material from around the outboard seat back airbag and the inboard seat back airbag, if equipped.
  4. Disconnect the blower from the seat back cushion pad, if equipped.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors that attach to the seat back cushion, if equipped.
  6. Remove the seat back cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly.
2 Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Pad
Procedure 
Pull the cover away from the pad to disengage the hook and loop fasteners and the U-channel.
