Transmission Indicators And Messages

The following transmission related indicators and messages may be displayed on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). Also, the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may be illuminated, indicating a powertrain DTC has set, along with an IPC message. If a DTC is set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle .

Service Transmission

This message displays if there is a problem with the transmission or a DTC has been set.

Shift Denied - Manual Mode

This message displays when attempting to shift to a gear not appropriate for the vehicle speed and engine RPM.

Transmission Hot

This message displays when the transmission control module (TCM) detects a transmission fluid temperature of 132°C (270°F) or greater for 5 seconds.
