Installation Procedure

Install the NEW manual shift shaft position switch (1) to the transmission and temporarily tighten the manual shift shaft position switch bolts (2).

Install the selector lever (1) to the manual shaft.
Move the selector lever to neutral (N) position.
Remove the selector lever (1) from the manual shaft.

Set DT-51175 range switch alignment checker to the manual shift shaft position switch and adjust neutral (N) position of manual shift shaft position switch.

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the manual shift shaft position switch bolts (1) and tighten to 6 N.m (53 lb in)
Remove DT-51175 range switch alignment checker from the manual shift shaft position switch.

Connect the manual shift shaft position switch electrical connector (1) to the manual shift shaft position switch (2).
Install the automatic transmission range selector lever. Refer to Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Replacement .
Verify the engine only starts in Park or Neutral. If the engine starts in any other position, adjust the switch.
