Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
- Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill (Maintenance) Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill (Repair) .
Rotate bayonet ring (3) counterclockwise to pull out the transmission wiring harness electrical connector upward and disconnect it.
- Remove the control valve body cover. Refer to Control Valve Body Cover Replacement .
Remove the 3 fluid strainer mounting bolts (1).
- Remove the fluid strainer (2) from the control valve body.
Remove and DISCARD the O-ring (1) from the fluid strainer.
If equipped with start/stop system, Remove the sub strainer bolt (1) and the sub strainer (3) from the control valve body.
- Remove and DISCARD the O-ring (2) from the sub strainer (3).
- NOTE:
- To prevent excessive torque application to the manual shaft, remove nut by fixing the manual plate with a flat-blade screwdriver or an equivalent.
- To prevent deformation to manual valve, never allow the tool (e.g. screwdriver) to directly touch the manual valve.
Remove the manual plate mounting nut (1).
- Remove the manual plate (3) and the spring washer (2) from the manual shaft.

Remove the 11 control valve body mounting bolts (1).
- Remove the control valve body from the transmission.
Remove the terminal assembly (1) from the control valve body and disconnect the terminal assembly connector.
Remove and DISCARD the O-ring (1) from the terminal assembly.
