Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
NOTE:
It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down before an accurate ground or low reference circuit continuity test can be performed.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X2 @ K71 Transmission Control Module
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Control circuit terminal 16 @ Control module harness & Ground
- Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify the test lamp turns On.
- If the test lamp turns On
- Disconnect the ground connection: G110
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Ground circuit terminal G110 @ X50A Fuse Block - Underhood & The other end of the circuit
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If 2 ohms or less
Go to next step: Test or replace the component: K71 Transmission Control Module
- If the test lamp does not turn On
- Remove the component: KR157 Transmission Control Module Relay
- Verify a test lamp turns On between the test points: B+ circuit terminal 86 @ Relay Socket & Ground
- If the test lamp turns On
- Verify a test lamp turns On between the test points: B+ circuit terminal 87 @ Relay Socket & Ground
- If the test lamp does not turn On
Test or replace the component: X50A Fuse Block - Underhood
- Go to next step: If the test lamp turns On
- Disconnect the electrical connector: X1 @ X50A Fuse Block - Underhood
Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Control circuit terminal 41 @ Component harness & Ground
- If less than infinite resistance - Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points: Control circuit terminal 16 @ Control module harness & The other end of the circuit
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- Go to next step: If 2 ohms or less
