Ignition - On/Vehicle - In Service Mode & Engine - Off & Transmission in Park
Verify the correct adjustment: Manual Shift Shaft/Park/Neutral Position Switch - Refer to: Manual Shift Shaft Position Switch Adjustment
- If not the specified state
  Repair as necessary
- Go to next step: If the specified state
Verify the correct adjustment: Range Selector Lever Cable - Refer to: Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment
- If not the specified state
  Repair as necessary
- Go to next step: If the specified state
Operate the component: S3 Transmission Shift Lever
Verify the scan tool parameter: Transmission Range Switch = S3 Transmission Shift Lever
- If not the specified state
  Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the specified state
Verify DTC P0705, P0706, P0851 is only set as a history DTC.
- If set as a current DTC
  Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC is set as history
  Go to next step: Refer to: Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections
Clear DTCs
Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
Verify the DTC does not set.
- If the DTC sets
  Refer to: Circuit/System Testing
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
All OK.
