Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission case plug area.
- Remove and discard the transmission case oil drain plug (2).
- Drain transmission fluid into a suitable container.
- Remove and discard the transmission case oil level check plug (1).
WARNING:
The transmission fluid is hot. Caution must be taken to prevent personal injury when the transmission fluid drains from the transmission.
