Removal Procedure

- Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (without Engine Block Heater)Battery Tray Replacement (with Engine Block Heater) .
Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable (1) from the shift control housing (3), using a commercial trim pad remover (5).
- Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable (2) from the selector and shift lever cable bracket (4) by pressing 2 tabs of clips.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable bracket nuts (1) from the underbody.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
Disconnect the shift lever and selector lever cable (1) from the transmission control lever, using a commercial trim pad remover (4).
- Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable (3) from the transmission control housing by pressing 2 tabs of clips (2).
Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable grommet nuts (1).
- Remove the shift lever and selector lever cable from the vehicle.
