Repair Information - Tires and Wheels: Wheels

To prevent the wheel centering seat from seizing up on the wheel hub, always apply a thin coat of wheel bearing grease to the wheel inner centering seat before installation. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
Any contamination or debris on the mating surfaces of the wheels and brake discs or drums have to be removed using a suitable tool.
Degrease the mating surfaces of the brake discs and drums before installing the wheels.
Grease should only be applied to the centering seat, but not to the mating surfaces (on rims, brake discs and drums, etc.). Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
