General Warnings and Safety Regulations: Fasteners

- Microencapsulated bolts must not be re-used and have to be DISCARDED after removal. Clean the thread of the bore and replace the bolt by a new one. Service may offer new bolts, which are not microencapsulated. In this case, apply a GM approved thread lock agent to the new bolt.
- Torque-to-yield fasteners must not be re-used and have to be DISCARDED after removal. Always replace torque-to-yield fasteners with new fasteners.
- Self-locking nuts must not be re-used and have to be DISCARD after removal. Always replace self-locking nuts with new ones.
