Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Support the rear axle with a hydraulic jack stand.
  4. Remove the rear shock absorber strut to rear axle retaining bolt (1).

  5. Remove the hydraulic jack stand from the vehicle.
  6. Remove the rear suspension strut bolts (1).

  7. Remove the rear shock absorber (1) from the vehicle.
