Camshaft Timing Chain Installation (L5Q)

1 Timing Chain Oil Nozzle
Tighten 
15 N.m (11 lb ft)
2 Timing Chain
NOTE:

Ensure the actuator timing marks and the crankshaft sprocket keyway are at the 12 O'Clock position.

Procedure:

    NOTE:

    Ensure the correct timing link is aligned with the timing mark. The color of the actuator timing links are the same, and the color of the crankshaft sprocket timing link is unique.

  1. Align the first timing chain link with the intake actuator timing mark.
  2. Align the second timing chain link with the exhaust actuator timing mark.
  3. Align the final timing chain link with the crankshaft sprocket timing mark.

4 Timing Chain Tensioner Shoe Bolt
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
5 Timing Chain Guide
6 Timing Chain Guide Bolt (Qty: 3)
Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
7 Timing Chain Guide
8 Timing Chain Guide Bolt (Qty: 2)
Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
9 Timing Chain Tensioner Gasket
10 Timing Chain Tensioner
NOTE:

Ensure the tensioner is fully retracted prior to installation.

11 Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt (Qty: 2)
Tighten 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
