Installation Procedure

- Lubricate the new piston seal (3) with the brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Refer to Brake System Specifications for the recommended brake fluid.
- Install the lubricated, new piston seal (3) into the caliper bore.
- Apply a thin coat of brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container onto the outer surface area of the caliper piston (2). Refer to Brake System Specifications for the recommended brake fluid
- Install the bottom half of the caliper piston (2) into the caliper bore.
- Install the new piston dust boot seal (1) over the caliper piston (2).
- Compress the caliper piston (2) to the bottom of the caliper bore.
- Fully seat the piston dust boot seal (1) into caliper counter-bore.
- Install the brake bleeder valve (1) to the caliper and tighten to 8.5 N.m (75 lb in).
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
- Install the brake bleeder valve cap (1).
- Install the brake caliper to the vehicle. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement .
