S79D Window Switch - Driver - Test

Ignition/Vehicle - Off
Disconnect the electrical connector: S79D Window Switch - Driver
Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
- Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 2 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 3 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 4 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 5 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 7 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 9 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 13 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 14 - Switch - Not Pressed
- If less than infinite resistance
  Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If infinite resistance
Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points:
- Ground terminal 11 & Control terminal 2 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 11 & Control terminal 3 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 11 & Control terminal 4 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 11 & Control terminal 5 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 11 & Control terminal 7 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 11 & Control terminal 9 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 11 & Control terminal 13 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 11 & Control terminal 14 - Switch - Not Pressed
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If less than 3 Ω
Operate the component: Driver Left Front Window Switch - Pressed/Pulled
Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points:
- {LHD} Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 7
- {LHD} Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 9
- {RHD} Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 13
- {RHD} Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 13
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If less than 3 Ω
Operate the component: Right Front Window Switch - Pressed/Pulled
Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points:
- {RHD} Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 7
- {RHD} Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 9
- {LHD} Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 13
- {LHD} Ignition terminal 12 & Control terminal 14
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If less than 3 Ω
Operate the component: Left Rear Window Switch - Pressed/Pulled
Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points:
- Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 2
- Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 3
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If less than 3 Ω
Operate the component: Right Rear Window Switch - Pressed/Pulled
Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points:
- Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 4
- Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 5
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If less than 3 Ω
Window Lockout Switch - Not Pressed
Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points: Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 1
- If less than infinite resistance
  Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If infinite resistance
Operate the component: Window Lockout Switch - Pressed
Test for infinite resistance between the test points: Ignition terminal 6 & Control terminal 1
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If less than 3 Ω
All OK.
