S79D Window Switch - Driver - Test

- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
- Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 4 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 5 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 6 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 7 - Switch - Not Pressed
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points:
- Ground terminal 1 & Control terminal 4 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 1 & Control terminal 5 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 1 & Control terminal 6 - Switch - Not Pressed
- Ground terminal 1 & Control terminal 7 - Switch - Not Pressed
- If 3 Ω or greater
Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If less than 3 Ω
- Operate the component: Driver Left Front Window Switch - Pressed & Pulled
- Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points:
- {LHD} Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 4
- {LHD} Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 5
- {RHD} Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 6
- {RHD} Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 7
- If 3 Ω or greater
Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If less than 3 Ω
- Operate the component: Right Front Window Switch - Pressed & Pulled
- Test for less than 3 Ω between the test points:
- {LHD} Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 6
- {LHD} Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 7
- {RHD} Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 4
- {RHD} Ignition terminal 3 & Control terminal 5
- If 3 Ω or greater
Replace the component: S79D Window Switch - Driver
- If less than 3 Ω
- All OK.
