Component Testing

  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector: S46 Liftgate Handle Switch
  3. Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
    • {With B9U} Signal terminal 4 & Ground terminal 3 - Not Pressed
    • {Without B9U} Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Not Pressed
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component: S46 Liftgate Handle Switch

    • If infinite resistance 
  4. Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points:
    • {With B9U} Signal terminal 4 & Ground terminal 3 - Pressed
    • {Without B9U} Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Pressed
    • If 3 ohms or greater 

      Replace the component: S46 Liftgate Handle Switch

    • If less than 3 ohms 
  5. All OK.
